TRANSCRIPT (Tommy Edison)

To enjoy this movie, you need a couple of things. You have to be able to speak German and French, be able to read – oh, yeah, and not be blind! (laughs)

(Trailer)

Boy, coming out of this movie, I was confused, confused, confused. It was interesting. However, I loved the characters.

James McAvoy as Charles Xavier. I love this guy. He’s got a little swagger to him. He’s charming. He’s funny.

Michael Fassbender as Erik. Fantastic. He does a very nice job being an angry character. He holds all that anger in him. It’s great. You can really feel it when he’s on screen.

Jennifer Lawrence as Raven was a nice one too. I like the way she plays the character.

(Kevin Bacon bite: “My name is Sebastian Shaw.”)

Kevin Bacon was great as Sebastian Shaw. And he knows how to play that part where you just hate him. You just root against him. He’s just such a creep.

(Sound bite: “Fire!”)

The music is really interesting in this movie. It helps to keep it moving. This movie takes place in the early 60’s. There’s one great thing! They use a Gnarles Barkley track in this one, from like 2008. (music) It’s called “Run”. It’s from the second Gnarles Barkley album. I love when that happens in a movie – a little inconsistency. It’s great and I don’t think anybody noticed.

One of the major parts of this film is completely visual. I had no idea what any of their secret powers were. Completely lost on me. And that’s fine. The only super power that I know is Charles Xavier being a telepath. (Charles Xavier sound bite: “Of the many spectacular things my mutation allow me to do is I can read your mind.”) You can clearly follow that. Now let’s go to Mystique. (sound bite: people yelling meeting) Looks good, right?! (laughs) (sound bite: yelling suddenly stops) (Charles Xavier sound bite: “How’s that for a magic trick?”) What’d she do?! (sound bite: “Best I’d ever seen.”) What?! (laughs)

So, for “X-Men: First Class”, I’m going 3 out of 4 eyes open. The characters in this were so strong. I really enjoyed it.

So be sure and follow me on Facebook or Twitter. I’m Tommy Edison, the Bind Film Critic. See, no spoilers. I didn’t know what happened?! (laughs)

BLIND FILM CRITIC – “Hangover Part 2″ movie review

Posted on by Admin in Blind Film Critic | Comments Off on BLIND FILM CRITIC – “Hangover Part 2″ movie review

Blind Film Critic Tommy Edison reviews the movie “Hangover Part II”. He explains how the movie is mostly made up of “sight gags”. Tommy shows us how a couple sight gags appears to him by showing you the joke with the picture and then showing it without the picture.

Starring: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis. Storyline: Right after the bachelor party in Las Vegas, Phil, Stu, Alan, and Doug jet to Thailand for Stu’s wedding. Stu’s plan for a subdued pre-wedding brunch, however, goes seriously awry.

THE HANGOVER PART II movie review – TRANSCRIPT

This is one of those movies where you’ve got to see part 1 in order to get part 2. If you go in at just part 2, huh, you may as well just go in like me. (laughs)

(edited trailer)

So it’s been a couple years and it’s finally here. Bridesmaids for men!

I mean, I thought the story was okay. I thought it was pretty predictable. I think it’s the same movie, just all over again. Just redone a couple years later… some new jokes in it.

Bradley Cooper on the other hand I thought was fantastic. I love when he’s on screen.

Ed Helms plays Stu and a lot of people love this guy and I gotta be honest, it doesn’t really work for me. I thought he pushed too hard. He wants to be funny, but for me it seems to take away from the human part of his character.

Zach Galifianakis – fantastic as Alan. They really show the depth this guy can bring to a part. And believe me, this is not the last we’ve seen of him. He’s going to be doing some dramatic roles and stuff in the future for sure.

(sound bite)

(music-Kanye West)

The soundtrack in the movie is nice. You know, the music really does add to it. A couple of Kanye tracks and a bunch of other stuff as well. Deadmau5 (Deadmouse), Danzig, a great Curtis Mayfield cut.

(music-Curtis Mayfield)

Hangover 2 is one of these movies that really relies on the sight gag. Trust me, I know this. The tattoo – a sight gag. Right? The monkey – a sighted joke on legs. And the way I find out, later on they just go — “Oh, it’s a monkey!” — And the shock of the thing and the scream and all that kind of thing… it’s not going to be that funny anymore. Man, you sighted people get all the breaks, don’t you?! (laughs)

So, for “The Hangover Part II”, I’m giving it 2.5 out of 4 eyes open. I want script and character development. They left that all in the first movie! (laughs)
